Croatian · Verb Tables · Beginner
kupiti means "to buy" in Croatian. Simplest present: ja kupim, ti kupiš, on / ona / ono kupi, mi kupimo, vi kupite, oni / one / ona kupe. Below: all 3 tenses we teach, with examples.
Drop -ti from the infinitive and add -m, -š, -Ø, -mo, -te, -e/-ju to the stem. This one form covers both 'I do' and 'I am doing'.
| ja | kupim |
| ti | kupiš |
| on / ona / ono | kupi |
| mi | kupimo |
| vi | kupite |
| oni / one / ona | kupe |
Use the short present of 'biti' (sam, si, je, smo, ste, su) with the main verb's l-participle, which agrees with the subject's gender in the singular.
| ja | kupio sam / kupila sam |
| ti | kupio si / kupila si |
| on / ona / ono | kupio je / kupila je / kupilo je |
| mi | kupili smo |
| vi | kupili ste |
| oni / one / ona | kupili su |
Add the short present of 'htjeti' (ću, ćeš, će, ćemo, ćete, će) after the infinitive; for -ti verbs the -i is dropped when written together as one unit (radit ću).
| ja | kupit ću |
| ti | kupit ćeš |
| on / ona / ono | kupit će |
| mi | kupit ćemo |
| vi | kupit ćete |
| oni / one / ona | kupit će |
| Kupim kartu za muzej. | I'm buying a museum ticket. |
| Kupili smo suvenire. | We bought souvenirs. |
