Croatian · Verb Tables · Beginner
platiti means "to pay" in Croatian. Simplest present: ja platim, ti platiš, on / ona / ono plati, mi platimo, vi platite, oni / one / ona plate. Below: all 3 tenses we teach, with examples.
Drop -ti from the infinitive and add -m, -š, -Ø, -mo, -te, -e/-ju to the stem. This one form covers both 'I do' and 'I am doing'.
| ja | platim |
| ti | platiš |
| on / ona / ono | plati |
| mi | platimo |
| vi | platite |
| oni / one / ona | plate |
Use the short present of 'biti' (sam, si, je, smo, ste, su) with the main verb's l-participle, which agrees with the subject's gender in the singular.
| ja | platio sam / platila sam |
| ti | platio si / platila si |
| on / ona / ono | platio je / platila je / platilo je |
| mi | platili smo |
| vi | platili ste |
| oni / one / ona | platili su |
Add the short present of 'htjeti' (ću, ćeš, će, ćemo, ćete, će) after the infinitive; for -ti verbs the -i is dropped when written together as one unit (radit ću).
| ja | platit ću |
| ti | platit ćeš |
| on / ona / ono | platit će |
| mi | platit ćemo |
| vi | platit ćete |
| oni / one / ona | platit će |
| Želim platiti karticom. | I want to pay by card. |
| Platili smo račun. | We paid the bill. |
