Limtzo Conjugation

למצוא (limtzo) means "to find" in Hebrew. Simplest present: אני (ani) אני מוצא (ani motze), אני (ani) אני מוצאת (ani motzet), אתה (ata) אתה מוצא (ata motze), את (at) את מוצאת (at motzet), הוא (hu) הוא מוצא (hu motze), היא (hi) היא מוצאת (hi motzet). Below: all 3 tenses we teach, with examples.

Simplest present הווה

The present-tense verb form (kotev/kotevet/kotvim/kotvot) is shared by every person of a given gender and number; the separate subject pronoun shows who is doing the action.

אני (ani)אני מוצא (ani motze)
אני (ani)אני מוצאת (ani motzet)
אתה (ata)אתה מוצא (ata motze)
את (at)את מוצאת (at motzet)

Simplest past עבר

The past tense adds person-marking suffixes directly onto the root; it distinguishes gender for 'you (sg.)' and 'you (pl.)' but not for 'I' or 'we'.

אני (ani)אני מצאתי (ani matzati)
אני (ani)אני מצאתי (ani matzati)
אתה (ata)אתה מצאת (ata matzata)
את (at)את מצאת (at matzat)

אתן (aten)אתן מצאתן (aten metzaten)
הם (hem)הם מצאו (hem matz'u)
הן (hen)הן מצאו (hen matz'u)

Simplest future עתיד

The future tense adds a person-marking prefix (and sometimes a suffix) to the root. In everyday speech the -u plural forms are used for both masculine and feminine, so the 'you pl. (f.)' and 'they (f.)' cells below repeat the masculine-plural form.

אני (ani)אני אמצא (ani emtza)
אני (ani)אני אמצא (ani emtza)
אתה (ata)אתה תמצא (ata timtza)
את (at)את תמצאי (at timtze'i)
הוא (hu)הוא ימצא (hu yimtza)
היא (hi)היא תמצא (hi timtza)
אנחנו (anachnu)אנחנו נמצא (anachnu nimtza)
