Mitsukeru Conjugation

見つける (mitsukeru) means "to find" in Japanese. Simplest present: — 見つけます (mitsukemasu). Below: all 3 tenses we teach, with examples.

Simplest present 現在形 (genzaikei)

Use the polite non-past form, made by dropping る from an Ichidan verb and adding ます (masu). It covers both present habitual actions and simple facts.

—見つけます (mitsukemasu)

Simplest past 過去形 (kakokei)

Replace ます with ました (mashita) to talk about a completed action.

—見つけました (mitsukemashita)

Simplest future 未来形 (miraikei)

Japanese has no separate future tense: the same non-past ます form is used for the future, made clear by a time word like 明日 (tomorrow).

—見つけます (mitsukemasu)
