Greetings. A brief firm handshake with eye contact and a nod is standard for men, women and children. Hugs and kisses are kept for close friends and family. Give people space and don't expect a long chat.
Personal space. Finns value quiet and personal space; small talk is minimal and silence in conversation is normal, not awkward.
Sauna culture. Sauna is central to social and even business life; if invited, it's a genuine gesture of hospitality.
Punctuality. Arriving on time is expected and appreciated for both social and business meetings.
Finland is one of the safest countries in the world, with very low crime rates.

Unlicensed taxis at the airport/stations. Occasionally overcharge tourists; stick to marked taxi ranks or a booking app and confirm the fare is metered.
