Entry & Visa
Russian citizens need a visa from an embassy or consulate to visit Croatia.
Visa needed from an embassy or consulate
Schengen visa required. Apply at the consulate that covers your place of residence in Russia; EU guidance tells consulates not to routinely take Russian applications from third countries. The EU suspended its visa facilitation agreement with Russia on 12 Sep 2022, so the standard €90 fee applies and a decision can take up to 45 days. Border officers register fingerprints and a photo under the EU Entry/Exit System (fully running since 10 Apr 2026).
Checked 13 Oct 2026 against the official page: home-affairs.ec.europa.eu
Rules change: always confirm on the official government site or with the embassy before you book.
Emergency numbers, plugs, health, apps, customs and the phrases you need, on two pages you can save or print.
