Indian citizens need an e-visa for Japan, applied for online before travel.
E-visa needed before you travel
The JAPAN eVISA is a single-entry tourist visa for Indian nationals and foreigners living in India (up to 90 days). Apply through VFS Global up to 3 months before travel. At the airport you must show the 'visa issuance notice' on a mobile device; a PDF, photo, screenshot or printout is not accepted. The visa fee is INR 500 for Indian nationals from 1 Jul 2026, plus the VFS service fee.
