German citizens don't need a visa for Japan for stays of up to 90 days.
No visa needed
No visa is needed for tourism or other short stays. To stay longer than 90 days you must apply for an extension at a Regional Immigration Bureau before the 90 days end (the exemption allows up to 6 months in total).
